Challenge: There were many components that the client wanted to represent including a variety of typefaces, a logo for the artist’s name, and brush and ink spot illustrations  representing the stories within the act. The f inal design was to be applied to the advertising for the show, the ensuing CD, along with f liers, print ads, and posters.

The client also wanted to ref lect the aesthetic of the romantic comedy f ilm posters of the 50’s and 60’s, ala Doris Day. The poster had various components to coordinate while still  being unif ied. The elements were modular and thus, easily applied to a wide range of sizes and needs.

Solution: Scaling and grouping the various elements allow hierarchy of information to guide the viewer’s eyes while still allowing the vintage mood to come through.
